Painting Crusade X event coverage

Painting Crusade did it again: this event was bigger and better than last year. The best advertisement was probably the international jury of painting superstars Roman Lappat, Cyril Abati and Rafael Garcia Marin. The recipe was almost the same as last year: on the ground floor there was the painting competition and second hand market, in the basement the painting tables, traders and the jury's display. There was now a small table in the corner where painting demos were happening. The painting contest got a little more room with a larger area to display the pieces. This was really necessary because last year it was very crowded on the display, and this year there were even more figures taking part!

After entering my figures for the competition, and buying the fantastic exclusive miniature of this year's edition, I had plenty of time to check out the entries of the competition. Again: same categories as last year: sculpting, special (with last year's exclusive mini), beginner, confirmed and master. The competition was fierce again, but in the end I got rewarded with bronze for my display in confirmed and a silver for my entry in the special category. I attach much value to winning something at this competition simply because the level is so high. So any prize, even bronze, makes me very happy :)

In the master category Raffaele Picca got third, Benoit Menard second and Ben Komets won gold. The best of show award went to Benoit Menard with his stunning Orc Pirate bust.

See you again next year for an even bigger and better edition!

Below is a video I made on Sunday in which I try to show exactly how the atmosphere was during the event. I had a lot of fun making the video, first time I do something like that in fact :), so I hope you enjoy it. Best viewed in 1080p ;)

Then there are the pictures, as usual. If you like this article then remember to spread the word!
