I think the heavy metal paint job is too "extreme" in comparison to yours. They make it this way to pop, whereas yours are more realistic and flow better. Nice comparison though.. don't see this enough these days.
I think both schemes have their merits but yours looks more natural. The GW one is muted but somehow wrong - can't say what it is that offends my sense of color though.
